28 weeks. 10 short ones to go.

So it is Me, the hopeless case of all the 15 doctors I visited in the last 6 years to get pregnant, who is posting this. I hit 28 weeks yesterday.

In my last post when I was 21 weeks, I wrote that I would be visiting my OB that week, I felt I was going in for the anatomy scan but I was not. I did not know a special appointment had to be made for that. 😑 So I was disappointed that I could not have the scan then but we got an appointment for a month later and finally at 24+3 we had the anatomy scan. I was so scared when the scan was in progress and especially seeing the baby’s heart pump so fast made me feel my own heart would stop any minute due to the surmounted fear I was feeling. I was just not able to breathe. I realised at that very instant how weak we humans are, just when this very heart stops beating a person is no more. I felt entirely grateful to my Lord for giving this beating heart to my child and making this child for us. This very soul and life for our empty lives to become joyful.

So now I am 28 weeks and just ever so ready to become this baby’s mommy. I have been keeping myself busy preparing the house for the much awaited arrival. Cleared out a lot of junk and made space for the little one’s things. We have bought a crib and a wardrobe and set them up in our room. We wont be making a nursery yet as we want our little one as close to us as possible but I will be decorating the wall behind the crib, which will begin in 2 weeks, Lord willing. Images shall be shared and the gender will be revealed through the pictures 😉

Finally, today I drank my very first cup of red raspberry leaf tea. I have read a lot about its benefits in tightening the uterus bed muscles for labor and post delivery recovery. If you are interested then start 1 cup a day from 28 weeks and increase to 2 at 32 weeks. I hope it proves beneficial and really does help.

Hope everyone is keeping well. Love to all.

Author: When You Cant Give Up

Its been 4 and a half years since my first attempt to have a baby, still going on with little success a long the way. I have done 4 Clomid rounds, 4 IUI's, 6 ICSI's and a couple of herbal remedies. Despite the heartbreak and pain, I am not willing to stop trying harder. Deep inside I feel that our bundle of joy will come sooner or later if I remain patient and continue to tweak my treatment after every failed attempt. This feeling has stopped me from giving up and brought me so far so soon. Hence, I call my blog "When you cant give up".

  1. Yay 3rd Tri!!! God really is great. All of the time. This is YOUR baby, the one He always meant for you to have. When I look at my Rainbow boy, I can’t imagine not having him, and had any of our previous pregnancies or cycles gone differently, I would not have had those beautiful blue eyes to look into every day. I know I would have loved those babies just as much. But they weren’t meant for this world.

This baby is meant for you and always has been. And I can’t wait for the pictures!!!

  2. You said 10 weeks to go…? are you getting induced at 38 weeks? I hope it goes great and you have a lovely birth!

I’m so happy for you to be expecting this amazing miracle! It certainly is awesome that God has brought you and baby to this place. 🙂 I’ve been hoping you would update again. I can’t wait to see the reveal pictures!!

I bought my raspberry leaf tea and it’s sitting in my cabinet waiting for me to start drinking it. 😉 I drank it last time and I do believe it’s beneficial. 🙂

    1. No I am not being induced. I said 10 weeks for a few reasons.
      1) baby is full term and okay to come out at 38 weeks
      2) 10 weeks sounds like a cooler number than 12 weeks. Easier for me to digest it aswell because I am scared of the third trimester. Hehe

Thank you for your well wishes and loving words. Happy for you that you are also proceeding towards your baby’s arrival.

How much tea do you plan to drink? Isnt 1 cup of 250ml/nearly 8 oz. good for now?

      1. I totally get that! I do the same thing. I keeping thinking “If Zane is born at the same stage Tru was, I have less than 9 weeks to go!!”

I don’t really remember how much tea I drank last time but I know I started drinking it later. This time I’m trying to get a head start on drinking it now. I’d say 1 cup is good for now. 🙂 I like it over ice with just a bit of sugar but I know a lot of people prefer hot tea.
